I labored over online TV reviews for over a year, doing the research needed to make sure I was happy with my purchase. *My reviewer of choice is cnet* I had originally been leaning towards a LED LCD, since they supposedly had better bright room performance. I saw that the 7000 & 8000 had special filters to reduce reflections, and my interest was piqued.

I finally got the green light from my wife to make the purchase for my birthday (back in June)and immediately started Samsung PN64D7000 looking at the reviews of the latest models. The Panasonic TC-PVT30 series and the Vizio XVT3SV series were both highly reviewed and I had been looking at those for awhile. The PN59D8000 review came out shortly after I started looking, and they mentioned that the high marks on the quality of that model would also apply to the PN59D7000. I decided this would be the best of both worlds: the higher quality of plasma with the increased brightroom performance. The price was right in the middle of both as well.
I decided to purchase on Amazon without viewing the TV in the store since I’ve always heard that the calibration is very different, and store performance is not a good indicator of in-home performance. *There is a store setting, during setup.

The glare is noticable while the TV is off, but goes away for the most part once you turn it on. I did have an issue when my wife wanted to re-arrange the living room to where our 3 large living room windows were directly across from the TV instead of to the side. At that point, the glare was VERY bad during the day, even with the blinds closed. We ended up using it as an excuse to finally get curtains and the problem was solved. The remaining light was easily taken care of by the TV’s filter.

I fully calibrated the TV to the 8000 settings originally & the TV color looked a little off (7000 calibration wasn’t out yet). After digging a little more, I read a suggestion to wait to calibrate until the TV had broken in. I returned it to the default setings and waited a month. By then, the 7000 calibrations were out and cnet had reviewed the 7000 claiming it was the best value available. I had liked the default settings, but could tell they weren’t perfect. Once I used the cnet calibration, the TV was exactly on the money.

I first acquired this Tv set because of only a couple of functions. One it absolutely was 55″ and two it turned out 240hz scanning along with LED lit. After I been with them delivered and set up (browse the other reviews Toshiba 55TL515U to see the best way to set it up) I noticed that the idea had the net apps along with 3d capabilities. I purchased your Toshiba Animations Blu ray Dvd and blu-ray player i have to point out that I was pleasantly surprised about the picture quality. The TV is indeed good I am now taking into consideration switching from uverse to another wire service provider. Only n this TV do you know that the compression is bad coming from my current cable provider. I purchased the actual used Television and got the wager that it is acceptable and I received lucky. With sub 1k rates it’s really a fantastic TV for the price. My partner and i still haven’t figured out the best way to save the particular wireless circle setting or perhaps my security password for fliker nevertheless I’m implementing that.

I was upgrading my own bedroom tv transferring from the sharp aquos lc42d64u. This is what I liked about this TV:
1. The actual 3d picture is GREAT as well as the 2d-3d converted pictures. You feed just like you are right there.
Two. The 2d photo is good however much less great as my own2 sharp which is 4 years old.
3. I would not care about all the web features as I make use of my other devices to achieve those functions. IMO, the TV should just be described as a TV. I have a Tivo that may play netflix, a revue that can perform netflix, my panasonic Three dimensional bluray player that could play netflix, you will get the picture.
4. The television prompted my to do a firmware upgrade. It warned me not to touch the TV prior to the upgrade is finished. We accepted and the development bar showed for a couple of seconds then it disappeared. The TV was not addressing commands! I was not confident that that is normal and I was scared to change it off as it may destruction the TV. So I provided it 15 minutes i quickly pulled the power wire off. When I put it back on, it had taken like a minute in order to restart and it seemed like the firmware was not changed. So I restarted the method and this time it finished and it restarted on its own but the firmware version was still not changed. The third time was the charm and the firmware had been upgraded. This is a tad bit scary. Imagine if it happens 2 years later on when the TV is out of warranty. I think the firmware upgrades should just be when absolutely necessary.
Your five. The warning concept when you display Three dimensional pictures is quite bothersome.
6. Sound is ok. Not too horrible because other reviews have mentioned but ok for a bedroom.
Seven. The TV itself looks nice and would match any decor. I favor the clean traces and the hidden audio system. The finish is darker hairline black. Less than gray as the pictures7 might show.
7. The price is great but it is worth paying of the extra money 42TL515U to get the 3 dimensional features.
9. Inactive 3d is perfect for this kind of application.

I was concerned with getting something without having the opportunity to experience it at all. I had been very satisfied and even surprised upon shipping and delivery and use however. The image is much better than what have been considered great DLP’s because recenlty as 3 years in the past. The TV though very large is not at all heavy, as wife and I didn’t have trouble taking this right down to basement, a trip which included a stair circumstance with 2 transforms. Blue ray and Playstation 3 slim content displays using great clarity and that i have a Sony 32″ 1080 Liquid crystal display screen to compare along with. Picture adjustments are incredibly WD-73738 good and allow with regard to very large change. I’ve mine in a basement room with a pair of large egress windows which get direct sunlight and I do not have the brightness etc near to max. One of the concerns I’ve read is viewing angle, for me though, the screen is so large it really is hard not to be at a good angle during a 15′ – 20′ room. If you are looking to get the biggest high quality screen to get the best price and do not must mount to walls, I haven’t seen anything better. Great merchandise!

Not simply did I get a line of credit of $3000. with them (at a rate of 24%)that is pretty common it seems for most stores this way, I also got them to operate one with a Promotion that they had for 0% interest for 36 months. The reason behind the 2 lines of credit can be I found out the company giving the 0% was General electric and they aren’t known for giving a lot of anything at all unless it’s a layoff. Long story short, I became able to get a $4400. personal credit line with GE, sufficient to buy my Tv set. So I found this particular TV there for $1999.97 and they threw in Sony BRAVIA KDL55EX720 a Sony Animations starter kit that had 2 pairs of Sony 3D cups, and an Alice in Wonderland Three dimensional disc that had not been compatible with the blu-ray gamer [...]) but that was alright since I had seen the movie already along with the TV has a built in 3D setting into it. The bundle also came with the Sony NSZ-GT1 WiFi-Enabled 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player Showcasing Google TV ([…) according to the invoice it was $550. worth of freebies. This kind of allowed me to get the 48mo. replacement guarantee on both the TV and the blu-ray and get out the door shelling out $2595. with tax. In my opinion, the peace of mind cheap I have 0% interest managed to get worth spending the additional money on the warranty.

I saved with regards to 30% or more by purchasing this particular from Amazon, over every other store, W#^mart incorporated. This TV offers so many nice functions that the other more affordable HDTV’s don’t have, making this worth the extra money. Originally Some want to spend wherever near this much, the good news Sony KDL40EX720 is I am so pleased that I did. Amazon allowed me to go back the first cheaper HDTV unopened with no demand, so then I ordered this one. Besides owning an awesome picture along with very good sounding audio system (which you can’t state for most 32 inches HDTV’s) I constantly use the pivot and sometimes the actual tilt, as well as the earphone jack, which allows myself to hook up our external self run speakers whenever I wish to. No need to hook up my own power hungry guitar amp just to get larger and fatter audio, which is seldom essential. Also has a built in reputation sensor with instantly turns off the picture (but not the seem) when I am out of your room for more than 5 minutes. If I fall asleep, this particular sensor will also ultimately turn the TV totally off as well, saving you on your electric bill. Too many other features to mention them, but I can say until this is by far the most packed 32 inch Brought (short of Sony’s 729, which is the exact same set with RS-232C along with IR-in added for about $100 a lot more) you’ll find, and the just 32 inch using 3D, which is yet another plus. Sorry to say that will I’ve haven’t attempted the 3D since yet. I really failed to choose this looking for that feature, but it is good to have just the same. I’m a very hard critic, but I must give this particular HDTV a 5 star considering Amazon’s awesome value. Way to go Amazon!
